Theme Park of Death was based on the work of The Occult Acting Group. A loose collection of site-specific acting rehearsals in Los Angeles carried out between February-May 2015.
One of these site-specific acting rehearsals was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. The rehearsal included re-enactments of its founder Hubert Eaton, movement exercises to evade the gaze of surveillance cameras at the mausoleum, improvised eulogies and readings from the Forest Lawn price catalogue. The installation consisted of video documentation, objects used at the rehearsal, mourning paraphernalia as well as research material.
